Every Child Deserves to Be
Born Into Stability

Strong families are the bedrock of strong communities. When parents have access to education, healthcare, and the support they need to prepare for and nurture a child, the results ripple across generations — healthier children, more stable homes, and communities that thrive.

Prepared, Supported Families Raise Healthier Children — and Build Stronger Communities

Every child deserves to enter the world into a family that is ready, supported, and equipped to give them the best possible start. Yet across Georgia, thousands of mothers face pregnancy and early parenthood without adequate healthcare, education, or community support — not because they don't want to do right by their children, but because the resources simply aren't there.

In Georgia, significant gaps in maternal healthcare, parenting education, and childcare access mean that outcomes vary dramatically by zip code, income level, and race. For low-income families — particularly in rural Georgia — prenatal care, postnatal support, and early childhood resources are often entirely out of reach.

The data is clear: children born to mothers who receive consistent prenatal care, parenting education, and postnatal support experience dramatically better outcomes — in health, in school readiness, and in long-term economic wellbeing. Investing in families before and after birth is one of the highest-return commitments a community can make.

"Children whose mothers received consistent prenatal care and early parenting support are significantly more likely to reach developmental milestones, maintain stable housing, and avoid contact with the foster care and juvenile justice systems."

— Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Building a Culture of Health, 2023

Georgia's maternal mortality rate is among the highest in the nation — nearly double the national average for Black mothers. More than 80 Georgia counties have no OB/GYN or certified midwife. These are not statistics about policy — they are about mothers and children who deserve better. Our work is to close that gap.
